Baseball 2008

The 2008 baseball season has begun! They've been practicing for about a month and this past Saturday was the kickoff game. They had team pictures and individual pictures taken that day as well. Their team lost 1-3. I didn't get any pictures of that game. They played again last night and their team won 13-3!! He is so excited and can't wait for the next game. This year he is on 2 different teams. A team that plays solely in Lafayette and then a travel team that will be playing on Saturdays. Up to bat ~ he cracked a good one too and I missed seeing him do it as I was talking to Ashlee and trying to convince her that I didn't need to get the umbrella out of the car. We got sprinkled on a bit but that was it. She thought for sure she'd melt! That would also be my Rodney standing in the background coaching 1st base. He wanted to play catcher this year and is doing a good job. Last year he played 3rd base. I'm not sure I'd like sitting there with those balls zinging in at me but he caught most of them and what he didn't catch he at least stopped from going any farther. I think he looks so stinkin' cute in the catcher's garb.

Stats so far: 1-1

Grandma thinks he's "stinkin" cute all the time. (<: congrats on the win Steven! Hopefully we'll be able to come to one of your games.

Why catcher? Makes my knees sore just to think about it! Maybe he just likes being in on almost all the action.

Congrats on the win, Steven. I hope your team does well and that we can come up and see you play.

Why Catcher you ask? I told him what the guy in charge told us. He said that if you really want to play in the pros you need to know how to catch because every team needs good catchers and they are hard to come by. Steven is doing a GREAT job behind the plate.
